Price Book Services for
Petrosoft CStoreOffice Operators
Petrosoft’s enrichment standardizes your UPC data. We fix the business behind it.
CStoreOffice’s Price Book Enrichment auto-fills names, sizes, and images for items with a recognized UPC. It does not make judgment calls about margin, validate deposit capture against state law, set parent-child relationships, reconcile shelf tags to the register, or handle the no-UPC and local items it cannot match. That gap is exactly what Apex covers — built to run alongside CStoreOffice, not replace it.
What CStoreOffice Enrichment Does — and What It Doesn’t
Both tools solve different problems. Understanding the line between them is the first step toward a clean price book.
What Enrichment Handles
- Matches UPCs against the world’s largest UPC database
- Auto-fills item names, sizes, and product images
- Eliminates manually keyed duplicate items with known UPCs
- Enables bulk price-book rebuilds and category restructuring
What Apex Handles
- Identifies items priced below cost or running negative margin (Selling-at-Loss Review)
- Validates bottle deposit capture against Oregon OLCC law and other state requirements
- Reviews tobacco and cigarette margins against current wholesale cost and state tax
- Sets parent-child relationships between cases/cartons and singles — the unit link enrichment does not create
- Cleans up descriptions and assigns records for no-UPC, bad-UPC, and local items enrichment skips
- Corrects miscategorized items using your store’s own department hierarchy
- Conducts on-site shelf-tag audits and reprints — a physical task no software can do remotely
- Assigns items to price groups and promo groups for accurate register operation
Enrichment is a data-quality tool. These services are operations and compliance work — the part that requires human judgment and knowledge of your store. Learn more about CStoreOffice and its Price Book Enrichment feature.
The Services
Every service below is available on its own. Bundles are listed in the next section. All nine services à-la-carte total $1,775.
Margin & Compliance — Stop the Quiet Leaks
The problems that cost money on every single transaction.
Selling-at-Loss Review
Identify items priced below cost or running negative margin, correct the obvious data-entry errors, and flag the rest for owner sign-off — before they keep bleeding money on every sale. We pull your item file, cross-reference cost against sale price, and deliver a clean list of problem SKUs with recommended corrections.
Cigarette & Tobacco Margin Review
Review margins in the regulated tobacco categories against current wholesale cost and state tax. Catches negative-margin SKUs and prices that haven’t kept up with the latest MSA increases or tax changes. One of the lowest-cost corrections on this page — and one of the most common gaps we find.
Deposit Validation
Confirm every eligible item is capturing the correct bottle deposit. Uncaptured deposits come straight out of your margin at 10 cents per container and create compliance exposure with the state — OLCC in Oregon, equivalent agencies in other states. CStoreOffice enrichment does not verify deposit assignment. We do.
Catalog Integrity — The Items Enrichment Can’t Fix
No-UPC items, local SKUs, and broken parent-child links are where your count accuracy falls apart.
Parent-Child Setup
Link cases and cartons — the “parent” — to the singles inside them — the “child” — with the correct unit count. Once that link exists, receiving one case automatically adds the right number of sellable units, and selling singles correctly depletes the case. This keeps on-hand counts and per-unit cost accurate on break-pack items like cigarettes (carton to pack) and beverages (case to can). Without it, inventory and margin reporting are built on a foundation that does not add up.
Unmatched & Duplicate Item Cleanup
Give unique, specific descriptions to duplicate, no-UPC, and local items that automated enrichment cannot match. When descriptions collide, cashiers ring the wrong item, counts drift, and reports stop being reliable. This service fixes that by hand — the items enrichment skips, handled one by one.
Category & Department Cleanup
Correct miscategorized items using your store’s own hierarchy — VAPE vs. Tobacco, Edible vs. Non-Edible Grocery, and whatever your department structure requires. When items land in the wrong category, your sales and margin reports mislead you. This service corrects the assignment so category-level reporting reflects what you actually sell.
Checkout & Floor — Register and Shelf
The tasks that require someone physically in your store or controlling your register config.
On-Site Price Tag Audit & Reprint
We come to your store, check each shelf tag against the current price book, and print and post fresh tags wherever they are out of date — so the shelf price always matches what the register charges. This is on-site work no software can perform remotely. A travel charge may apply depending on store location — always quoted up front before you commit.
Price Group Assignment
Group items so pricing changes can be managed at the group level instead of one SKU at a time. When your distributor raises a cost tier, you update one group — not three hundred line items. Faster repricing, far fewer errors, and a price book that’s easier to maintain going forward.
Promo Group Assignment
Set up promo groups so multi-item deals run cleanly through the register — no promos that fail to fire, no promos that overcharge customers mid-deal. If your current promotional pricing is configured item by item with no group structure, this service builds the foundation that makes promotions reliable and auditable.
Bundles
Every bundle includes a free enrichment run and QA on the items CStoreOffice can match.
Each tier builds on the one before it. All services are also available à-la-carte if you only need one or two.

Why Apex for CStoreOffice Operators
We work with CStoreOffice’s third-party count workflow directly. Our team arrives with your count file loaded and understands the CSO item-file conventions before we walk in the door — this is not a generic inventory company learning your software on your time.
Our active clients include fuel and convenience-store operators across Oregon and Washington. We serve the same vertical you run, on the same software stack you use.
Oregon City and Salem offices — two-office coverage with local relationships, not a national call center.
Physical inventory counts delivered within 48 hours. Price book services quoted after a brief file review.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this replace Petrosoft’s Price Book Enrichment feature?
No. Apex’s services are designed to run alongside CStoreOffice enrichment, not replace it. Enrichment handles UPC matching and data standardization — it’s good at what it does. Our services handle the compliance work, judgment calls, and physical tasks that enrichment does not cover, including deposit validation, parent-child setup, tobacco margin review, and shelf-tag reconciliation. The two approaches are complementary.
What do I need to get started?
For remote services — Selling-at-Loss Review, tobacco margin review, deposit validation, catalog cleanup, and group assignments — we work from a CStoreOffice item-file export. No on-site visit is required. You export the file from CStoreOffice and send it to us. For the On-Site Price Tag Audit, we schedule a visit to your location based on your calendar and ours.
Can I order individual services or do I have to buy a bundle?
All nine services are available à-la-carte. Bundles are offered at a savings for operators who want to address multiple areas at once. You are never required to buy more than you need — if you only need deposit validation, that is a $200 project.
How long does it take?
Remote services are typically completed within 3 to 5 business days of receiving your item file. On-site services are scheduled based on your location and our current field calendar. We will give you a clear timeline before you commit to anything.
My price book is a mess. Where do I start?
Start with the Good bundle — Margin & Compliance at $350. It addresses the problems that are costing you money on every single transaction: items priced below cost, tobacco margins out of sync with current wholesale cost, and missing bottle deposits. Those three corrections alone often recover more in margin than the service costs within the first week of corrected pricing.
Do you work with multi-location operators?
Yes. If you run more than one CStoreOffice location, we can review item files across all locations and flag inconsistencies between stores — items priced differently at different sites, deposits captured at one location but not another, and similar cross-store gaps. Pricing for multi-location work is quoted after a file review.
We already ran enrichment. Do we still need this?
Enrichment improved your UPC-matched items. It did not create parent-child relationships, validate deposit capture, review tobacco margins against current costs, or address your no-UPC and local items. Most operators who have run enrichment still have gaps in all of these areas. Enrichment is a starting point — these services are what you do after enrichment has run.
Does Apex also do physical inventory counts for CStoreOffice stores?
Yes — our core business is third-party physical inventory counting for c-store and fuel operators. We work inside the CStoreOffice “Count by 3rd Party” workflow directly, so your count data feeds into CSO without manual re-entry. Price book services and physical counts can be paired or ordered separately. Learn more about our physical inventory counting services.
What states do you serve?
Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Northern California. We have offices in Oregon City and Salem, Oregon — two-office coverage with local field teams, not a remote-only operation.
Is there a contract or minimum commitment?
No contract. Price book services are quoted per project. Physical inventory counts are scheduled per store per visit. You are not locked into anything.
